There was not much holding me back from heading back to the comfort of my parked car that evening.
I was freezing on that beach and the best of the light had already left the skies. I was looking forward to a warm meal on that winter evening, but my gut instinct kept me back. Thankfully my instinct proved right, and the burn lasted for a long time

Chasing the Wheel
Four years of living in this city, and this sunset was my first attempt at capturing this enigmatic wheel that dominates the wharves and docks of the downtown. I was seeking the the optimal slice of twilight to capture the vibrant lights against the blue-red gradient.
As I continued capturing multiple exposures, I wondered what the spectactors of this wheel of light were experiencing at that time. Perhaps as much joy as I was feeling.

Rolling Grains
While Palouse has its star attractions for a photography, what brings me the most delight is wandering around the backroads seeking photogenic barns that stand out against the blue skies and the rolling green hills. I was lucky with this one

Lush Paradise
A perfect recipe for the cold winter in the Pacific Northwest is immersing oneself in the warm pools of tropical Mexico. This lush paradise was a welcome respite after a long tired day of driving through the sinuous roads of Chiapas

Sparks of Sand
When I photograph sand dunes, I normally seek out patterns in the ripples of the dunes, especially during the golden hours. But this time, I decided to focus on the faint shadow cast by the clouds as a gust of wind whipped up the sand.

Twilight Dreams
A few winters ago, I explored the Pacific coast of Olympic National Park on a rare sunny weekend. One of those days a colorful sunset which did its best to not betray the freezing gusts of wind hounding the coast.

Light in the Dark
This lighthouse was commissioned over a 130 years ago to help ships navigate the narrow channels of the Puget sound. Its remarkable that the the original structure still remains today, and still serves as an active aid for traversing the canals of Elliot Bay. And it serves as a great subject for sunset photography in urban Seattle

Alone at Sea
During a spring hike a few years ago, I was blessed with remarkable conditions over the Puget sound. I specifically sought this location in an urban park so that I could capture the beautiful silhouette of the Olympic range. A lone sailboat happened to be at the right place to frame this scene.

Ready to launch
January in Seattle isn't usually known for clear skies and colorful sunsets. But this January has been quite different. Sunny weekends with colorful skies at sunrise and sunset, fresh powder in the mountains, and clear weather made for an enjoyable winter. While returning from a hike, I spied this beautiful sunset over the skyline, with the Space Needle seemingly ready to launch into the orange clouds.

Agua Azul
During those dreary winters, I often dream of escapades into the sunny southern latitudes to hike in a steaming tropical rainforest, drink fresh fruit juices and sip on coconut water, and cool down in a refreshing waterfall. Just like this one
